Chris Nugent
Managing Director
Chris has over 20 years’ experience as an MD within the construction industry and has led and managed businesses of varying sizes. A graduate of Glasgow University in Business Management and Economics, Chris is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building and has an MBA. Chris is a strong believer in developing and maintaining relationships in business through strong communication with staff and customers and the delivery of a top quality service.

James A Scott
Director
Jim joined the company in 1987 after three years in the insurance business. He was appointed a Director of Scotwood in 1993 and has always been actively involved in all aspects of the business. For twenty-five years, until 2024, Jim’s role was Joint MD with Doug Kerr, before he handed the MD reins to Chris Nugent. He continues in his role as Director and plays a lead role in sales and relationship management with clients. He is always on hand to ensure the smooth running of projects.

Thomas Daffurn
Commerical Director
Having completed his modern apprenticeship in joinery with a small family firm, Thomas joined Elmwood Projects Ltd in 2003 and worked his way up through the ranks from joiner, site foreman and site manager, before moving into estimating and commercial surveying with the firm. He thrived in this role and continued to progress from Trainee Estimator to Estimator and Bid Manager. Thomas joined Scotwood in 2024, attracted by the company’s high client and staff retention rates. We are delighted to announce that, following his outstanding contribution to the business, Thomas has now been promoted to the role of Commercial Director at Scotwood.

Andy Ashton
Operations Director
John Taylor joined Scotwood in 1985 as a joiner and worked his way up through the ranks before becoming Contracts Director. John oversees all Scotwood’s contracts across the UK and is in charge of a department which includes over 20 qualified tradesmen. His project management abilities have helped ensure customer satisfaction and generated a significant amount of repeat business over the years. As part of his retirement plans, John has decided to step aside from his role to allow Andy to take on the responsibility for the future of the department and the continued growth of Scotwood. John’s dedication and contribution to the company over the past four decades have been invaluable, and his experience has helped shape the business into what it is today.

Laura Harley
Finance Manager
Laura Harley joined Scotwood as Finance Manager in 2024, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in accounts, much of it gained within the fit-out and refurbishment sector. In her previous role, Laura progressed from Office Administrator to Accounts Manager, demonstrating her strong work ethic, commitment, and expertise across all areas of financial management. At Scotwood, Laura manages all aspects of the accounts function and plays a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the business. Her knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail make her an extremely important part of the team, helping to ensure strong financial control and supporting the continued growth and success of the company.

Craig Rodgers
Senior Projects Manager
Craig joined Scotwood in January 2013 and has brought years of experience and knowledge to the company, becoming an integral part of the Contracts Team. Craig is responsible for looking after contracts from conception through to handover, while also assisting in surveying and pricing roles. We are delighted to announce that Craig has been promoted to Senior Projects Manager, a promotion that is thoroughly well deserved. He brings a wealth of construction experience to the role, and his dedication, expertise, and commitment to delivering high-quality projects continue to make him a valued member of the Scotwood team.

Graham Scott
Contracts Co-ordinator
Graham joined Scotwood in 1990, originally working as a driver before moving into buying as a trainee, which marked the beginning of a long and successful career in purchasing. Through his dedication and commitment to developing his expertise, Graham achieved Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply accreditation and progressed into the role of Buyer and Contracts Co-ordinator. Over the years, Graham has become an extremely important part of the Scotwood team, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth procurement and coordination of materials and services across the business. His knowledge, reliability, and experience are invaluable to both the commercial and operational sides of the company, and his contribution continues to support the successful delivery of projects throughout the UK

Robbie Gillespie
Contracts Supervisor
Robbie Gillespie has progressed through the ranks at Scotwood, beginning his career as an apprentice joiner before developing into a Site Manager within the contracts team. Through hard work, dedication, and a strong understanding of the industry, Robbie has become an important part of the team and continues to grow within the business. Robbie has recently undertaken and successfully passed his BM TRADA exams, an achievement we are extremely proud of. This qualification further strengthens Scotwood’s expertise in compliance and quality assurance, and Robbie will play an instrumental role in supporting the company’s continued development in these important areas across our projects.

Darren O'Hare
Quantity Surveyor
Darren O’Hare joined Scotwood in 2025 and has quickly established himself as a key member of the commercial team. A Maths graduate from the University of Strathclyde, Darren also holds a Masters degree in Quantity Surveying, bringing a strong combination of analytical ability and industry knowledge to the business. Darren plays an important role within the commercial team, supporting the successful management and delivery of projects across the company. His professionalism, enthusiasm, and attention to detail have already made a positive impact, and we are delighted to have him as part of the Scotwood team as he continues to develop his career with the business.

Chris McCallum
Quantity Surveyor
Chris McCallum joined Scotwood in 2025 as a Quantity Surveyor and quickly became an important part of the wider commercial team. Bringing real energy and enthusiasm to the role, Chris has already made a positive impact within the business through his commitment, attention to detail, and collaborative approach. Chris works closely with the commercial team across a variety of projects, supporting the successful delivery of contracts while helping to ensure value and efficiency throughout each stage of the process. We are delighted to have Chris as part of the Scotwood team and look forward to seeing him continue to develop within the business.

Beata Mosler
Finance Administrator
Beata Mosler joined Scotwood in 2025 as Finance Administrator, bringing with her a wealth of experience and knowledge in financial administration and business support. Since joining the company, Beata has quickly become an important part of the finance team through her organised approach, professionalism, and commitment to supporting the wider business. Beata plays a critical role in helping to maintain strong relationships across Scotwood’s supply chain, ensuring suppliers and subcontractors are supported efficiently and effectively. Her attention to detail and proactive approach are invaluable in keeping day-to-day financial processes running smoothly, and we are delighted to have her as part of the Scotwood team.

Sub Contractors
Our highly skilled and multi-trade workforce enjoy close working relationships with carefully selected sub contractors, unless nominated by the client. We provide repeat business for a select number of specialist contractors that we use on a continuing basis and they must comply with our stringent Health & Safety requirements.
Our high standards are well known to them because we have been working with the majority of our contractors for between 10 and 20 years.
